Walking Kids of Choco

In the middle of the Darien Gap Jungle in the border separating Colombia from Panama lives an indigenous community, the Kuna people. Some of their children are being sent to high school in the nearest town, the reason: the lack of high school in the village. Edinson, has taken the decision of finishing high school in Unguia. His displacement is not only physical but also cultural. Classes are taught in Spanish and not in Kuna, and the education received ignores his Native American roots. An insight into the live of indigenous children that must walk to school for four hours daily to get educated in a different culture. This documentary explores their motivation and how do they manage the complex equilibrium between tradition and modernity.
