Thomas Couple is a young boy full of imagination and fascinated with creating magical worlds through the lens of his camera. He uses the camera as an escape from the real world and a chance to bring his imagined fantasy world 'Syrenia', and its enchanting inhabitants, to life. When faced with the loss of his supportive parents, Thomas turns to his fantasies for comfort but is met with a challenge from his grandfather to put down the camera and face life's harsh realities. Thomas struggles to see eye to eye with his grandfather, so Syrenia becomes part of his reality and the only way to keep hold of his parents. With his grandfather emotionally stressed and losing hope Thomas proves to him how his imagination and faith in things unseen can embrace unimaginable possibilities.
