Old friends, Samantha and Beth are currently leading separate lives. Beth, the promising college student is nearing her final year in school, while the free-spirited Samantha makes a living as a waitress at a diner. As summer begins, the girls find themselves on the same route back to their hometown. The convenience of carpool brings them together again in close quarters. While Samantha yearns for a reunion, Beth's secret keeps her at a distance. Eventually, they are forced to confront their rocky relationship head on.
